Coming off her 2006 single “Falling in Love“, Deesha has evolved into a Pop Goddess that sings effortlessly between two cultures while maintaing a cool factor that others in the arena fail so badly at. Her music often blends elements of pop, electronic, and alternative rock; various instruments can also be found in her songs, including violins, tambourines, trumpets, saxophones, and cellos.^[1] She released her debut album, Youth Novels, in 2008.

Now the quality of this video is what got our attention. Just wicked imagery that suits the sound so well. Fuzzy dark gritty images flashing over provactive lyrics. The chaiwalla diggs this !

This project is absolutely breathe taking. Imagine a future where machines, computers and humans join forces to create outer-national electronic music.  The Machine Orchestra is a journey into the future and you must simply press play on the vimeo video below to understand.

Now that you’ve gotten a glimpse of the sheer genius and labour gone into the project, its time to unwind and enjoy the masterpiece.

As you should be aware by now Darkstar released their album NORTH last month and its been met with great praise by the blogosphere BUT we got a special unreleased version of GOLD. I first heard of Darkstar’s title track GOLD last year in December and fell in love with it because it had this funky dark groove reminiscent of the 80′s but brought back into 2010 with a futuristic robotic twist. Well it just so turns out that the version I have is not the version they released. So enjoy this one its way cooler!

YES! and it begins the Adham Shaikh Remix Contest of ‘CARPET BREAKER’. Heres your chance to take this Balkan infused tune and make it your own. We want you to rip apart the 12 individual STEMS of violins, flutes, accordions and drums to make the biggest bloody BALKAN anthem of 2011. Its all up to you now and the winning remix will be put on Adham Shaikh’s next album.

THE RULES

2. Listen to the original version here. Then roll up those sleeves and get to work!

3. Once your remix is completed you must upload it to our SoundCloud dropbox here. Name it ‘Carpet Breaker’ with your own remix title in (apostrophe’s) at the end.

4. We would appreciate it if you didn’t make your remix public and wait for our final results before sharing your work.

5. THE DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17TH, 2010

6. The Winning Remix will be on Adham Shaikh’s next album.
